Burundi Busambo #15 Washed
2100 MASL / Washed / Red Bourbon
Within the city of Kayanza, in the northern area of Burundi, sits the Umoco washing station. Named after the Kirundi word for “light”, Umoco serves as a central station for the coffee growing around it. A community of surrounding producers deliver their red clay grown coffees to Umoco for a 12 hour wet fermentation, followed by a 12 hour dry fermentation, and, finally, a 20-25 drying on traditional African beds. This meticulous processing, combined with perfect growing conditions, produces some of the finest coffees in the world.
Notes: honeycomb, streusel, mandarin, pomelo
