Ethiopia Laayyoo "Double Layer"
2200 MASL / Sun-dried Natural / Landrace (74110 & 74112)
Produced within the famed Guji zone, this "double layer" natural lot of Laayyoo is bursting with flavor. Composed of around 35 small out-growers, the Raro Nensebo drying station in Uraga processes the local varietals of ripe cherry. This drying station is known for its incredible attention to detail when it comes to natural processing cherry. This "double layer" is a smaller lot from Raro Nensebo which focuses on creating an intensely sweet and fruit forward cup. The name Laayyoo is given to this coffee in reference to the shade trees utilized in this region that not only protect the growing coffee, but also provide much needed sustenance to the soil via their nutrient-dense leaves. Sookoo coffee, the product of this lot, has gained popularity in 2018 by funneling resources back into the communities that they produce coffee within.
